Cost: $220 per student
Description:
Plein Air Painter William Kalwick will begin each day with a demonstration of his painting techniques. He will discuss how to choose the composition from the subject matter at hand and how to concentrate on the focal area. Students will learn how to manage the changing light, and the use of color as it relates to depth perception, thereby creating an illusion of space on a two dimensional surface.
Materials List:

Portable Field Easel

Canvases or panels, one for each day. Bring manageable sizes

Variety of brushes to include hog bristle and some soft brushes

Palette knife
-
Variety of oil colors; please bring what you have.

Gamsol with covered container

Paper towels

Trash bag

Sketchpad with pencil, charcoal or other drawing implement

Notebook for note keeping

Friday, March 1st- 9-11:30am- NOAPS Master Artist Demonstration
Join us for an demonstration by NOAPS Master Artist, Ann Hardy at the RS Hanna Gallery.
Ann Hardy
Ann Hardy will demonstrate an oil painting of a floral using natural light. She will demonstrate her composition, color choices and the techniques she uses to capture the essence of her subject in stunning color.

Bob Rohm
BOB ROHM, OPA, PSA:
Bob has been painting most of his life, and received classical art training at the York Academy of Arts in Pennsylvania. Now a resident of Texas, his paintings reflect the brilliance of the colors found in the clear, bright light of the southwest.
Bob juries shows, teaches workshops, lectures and demonstrates in oil and pastel mediums. Known for his ability to capture the poetry of light, he has received many awards and is a signature member of the Pastel Society of America, Oil Painters of America and the Outdoor Painters Society. He is the author of the book THE PAINTERLY APPROACH and has been featured in many publications including Southwest Art, American Artist, The Artist’s Magazine, The Pastel Journal, International Artist and Pure Color. His painting approach has been the subject of several instructional DVD productions and his work is collected internationally and is represented by a number of fine galleries including Aspen Grove Fine Arts in Aspen, CO and Southwest Gallery in Dallas, TX.

William J. Kalwick, Jr.
William J. Kalwick, Jr. is a highly recognized landscape and portrait painter, whose paintings hang in collections in North America and Europe. He has exhibited in many high profile shows, including the Prix de West in Oklahoma City and two one-man shows in the Museo Ixchel located in Guatemala City, sponsored by the American Embassy. His portrait and figurative works capture the essence of life itself, from scenes in a local market to formal portrait sittings.
Kalwick will be demonstrating a portrait done in natural light, showing viewers the subtle skin tones and expressive brushwork for which his work is noted.
